When does Lumen’s Internship take place?
Lumen’s Internship program is a fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study. The program runs for 10 weeks, from late May into early August.
When should I apply for Lumen’s Summer Internship Program?
As soon as positions get posted! The intern recruitment cycle begins by posting open positions in the Fall, with candidate selections made by the end of the calendar year for the following Summer program. Join our talent community to stay up to date on future internship postings.
Do you offer internship opportunities in the Fall or Spring?
The internship program takes place during the Summer timeframe, typically May through August. We do not currently offer internships or co-op’s outside of this timeframe.
What should I expect during the internship?
Expect it to be amazing! Our internships provide hands-on experience and the ability to work on real projects – both in a designated work group as well as with fellow interns. In addition to gaining “real world” experience, they offer great mentorship opportunities with professionals who are leaders in their respected fields. Our interns also have many opportunities to participate in career development workshops, volunteer in their communities, and network with one another at different social events.
Is the summer internship paid?
We offer competitive pay for our interns based on experience, education, and nature of the role.
Am I eligible to be an intern?
Eligibility for the Internship program is confirmed by meeting the following requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a 4-year accredited degree program, respective to the work experience. (Internships are not available post-graduation.)
- Must be in a Junior, Senior or Graduate/Master’s education level status prior to the start of the internship program.
- Must have a GPA 3.0 or greater to be considered.
- Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the determined summer intern timeframe, typically 10 weeks.
Where are the internships located?
We offer internships all over the United States, in offices as well as virtually! Work locations are determined by the host team and their team’s location. Internship position locations are listed on the specific job posting.
Do you offer relocation or housing assistance during the internship program?
We offer a housing stipend and round-trip travel reimbursement for interns who meet the stipend eligibility requirements.
Do you offer sponsorship?
We do offer sponsorship; however, sponsorship may be limited to specific positions. Visit our UR/Entry Level page and apply to the qualified positions for more information.

If I am an upcoming graduate, when should I apply for full-time positions at Lumen?
Based on your graduation and availability, we encourage upcoming graduates to apply no more than 4 months prior to their available date to start. Join our Talent Community to receive alerts and stay up to date on opportunities aligned to your interest and then feel free to apply once you are within the 4-month timeframe.
