slide 2 of 2 Positive Attitude “My time in the United States Air Force inspired many core values, like, positive attitude and perseverance. When I became an employee at CenturyLink, I was able to use those values with the AMO Grooms team and as a member and leader in the Veterans ERG. Keeping a positive attitude is infectious and inspiring to others. Also, with perseverance, no matter the situation, we can all come together for a single purpose to succeed in all aspects of our career and life. Chris Day – United States Air Force Respect “My experience in the USAF taught me that respect is important on many levels. From the start of basic training to my last squadron, our teamwork created respect and camaraderie among a diverse group of individuals from a variety of backgrounds. We learned to respect and appreciate our differences, remaining focused together on our team’s objectives. I learned to respect the process and the importance of paying attention to detail. To this day, I hold to the importance of trust and respect for my leaders and to respect the chain of command. I am grateful that for the past 20 years here at Centurylink, I have experienced that same level of respect with partners across all levels of Centurylink including the Vets Group and the other ERGs.” Sabrina Gentry, United States Air Force Integrity and Respect My service as a US Army Military Police soldier gave me exposure to lots of different cultures and ways of life. I found that during my tenure in the Army, respecting others and holding myself to high standards of integrity goes a long way in communicating with others, especially in my time here at CenturyLink. I’ve found that if I treat someone with as much respect as possible, there is more of a chance of breaking down boundaries and moving forward in the most harrowing situations. Ensuring my words and promises are kept, reciprocity soon follows to help climb walls of adversity as well as other barriers. As a member of several CenturyLink Employee Resource Groups, my understanding of other cultures/ways of life have grown exponentially that not only helps me overcome issues at work but in my overall daily life, outside of CenturyLink.
